A teenager died after being struck by a car in Limerick at 4am on Sunday morning.
The young man was walking along a local road at Dromsally near Cappamore when he was involved in a collision with a car.
Emergency services rushed to the scene and he was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he was later pronounced dead.
The road remains closed this morning as officers continue their investigation.

A garda spokesperson said: "Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have been requested to examine the scene and the local Coroner has been notified. The road is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
"Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witness to contact them.
