Teenager died moments after getting exam results and Salford University place

Pauline Fielding kissed her son for the last time on the day he secured his place at Salford University. Andrew, a 'kind, thoughtful' 18-year-old, picked up his important exam results before travelling to a football match with friends.

He died 'instantly' in a crash on a busy Cheshire road. Retired teacher Pauline, now 77, was given news of the horror smash by her husband in a call after she finished work one day in June 1994.

Her husband questioned whether he'd lost a leg, the Liverpool Echo reports. Tragically, on a day Andrew and his family should have been celebrating, it was 'worse than that'.
