A teenager pulled a wheelie on a scrambler bike and led police on a high-speed chase.
Owen Jameson, 19, sped along Thomas Drive in Prescot on an off-road scrambler bike on March 7, 2023. Jameson, who was disqualified from driving due to a previous offence, was spotted by a police officer as he performed a wheelie at speed in a 20mph zone.
The officer pursued Jameson, having to drive at 50 mph to keep the teenager in sight. Jameson, from Huyton, performed wheelies - taking the bike's front wheel off the ground at speed - for around 100 metres, veering towards pedestrians.

He then stopped to chat to somebody on the pavement, which allowed police to catch up. After he stopped, the officer knocked Jameson off the bike to apprehend him.

On March 8, 2022, police executed a warrant on Wilson Road in Prescot and searched the alleyway.
They gained access to a rear garden shed and officers found a gun wrapped in black bin bags. The gun was identified as a Beretta double-barrelled shotgun, which was loaded with two cartridges.
Multiple people's DNA was found on the grip of the weapon. Jameson's DNA was located on the trigger and the grip.
After being arrested on suspicion of the driving offences in March, Jameson pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified, possession of cannabis, possession of a shortened shotgun without a licence, dangerous driving and driving without insurance.
On April 6. He was sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday (April 12), appearing on video link from HMP Altcourse, where he has been on remand since March. Representing Jameson, John Rowan emphasised his client's age at the time of offending but said he was doing well in custody, engaged in English and Maths lessons with the aim of working in Altcourse's engineering department.
Mr Rowan also said that Jameson suffered from anxiety and panic attacks, saying his client had suffered a bruise on the brain having been kicked in the head. He also pointed to Jameson's early guilty plea.
Jameson, who has six previous convictions for 11 offences, was sentenced to 18 months in a young offenders' institution and banned from driving for 20 months. Sentencing, Mr Recorder Lamb told him: "In this case, the appropriate punishment can only be achieved by an immediate custodial sentence".
