Teenager denies owning far right terror manuals

A Widnes teenager has denied possessing extremist far right material.

Mason Yates, 19, of Elstree Court, Widnes, appeared at Manchester Crown Court on Friday to enter his pleas.

Yates pleaded not guilty to two charges of possessing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

It is alleged the teenager owned a publication called 100 Deadly Skills in January last year, and a copy of The White Resistance Manual between November 13, 2020 and January 9 last year.

At a brief hearing at Manchester Crown Court a trial date of April 25 was fixed.

Judge Alan Conrad QC re-bailed Yates until his trial later this year.
