A teenager has been charged after a boy was slashed in the face.
The 15-year-old victim was attacked, at around 7.50pm on Sunday, April, at the junction of Water Street and Westfield Street, in St Helens. Police attended the scene and a short time later, a 16-year-old boy, from St Helens, was arrested.
Officers have now confirmed that the teenager, who can't be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.

A spokesperson for Merseyside police said: "A 16-year-old boy has been charged with Section 18 wounding following an incident in St Helens on Sunday 2 April. At around 7.50pm, we received a report that a 15-year-old boy had sustained a slash wound to his face at the junction of Water Street and Westfield Street.
"He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injury. A 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
"He will appear at Merseyside Youth reman Court this afternoon, Tuesday 4 April."
