Teenager breaks neck after attempting TikTok challenge while being egged on by pals

A teen who was almost left paralysed after attempting an online challenge has issued a warning to other youngsters. Sarah Platt, 16, was joking around with pals when they egged her on to try the “skull breaker” challenge.

Once a TikTok craze, the challenge sees two people kick the legs from underneath a person so they land on their head. Sarah says she felt peer pressure to attempt the dangerous act after watching two of her friends carry it out and walk away unscathed.

Unlike her friends, the schoolgirl had to be rushed to hospital on a spinal board after losing feeling in her right leg after she landed on her neck. According to the Mirror, medics found she had broken three bones in her neck and her T5 vertebrae.
