Police have launched a murder investigation after a 17-year-old boy, who was driving a motorcycle, was involved in a crash with a car. Merseyside Police said the car hit two motorcycles, close to the junction of Park Road and Boardmans Lane in St Helens in the early hours of Tuesday, October 4.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 12.30am on Tuesday and took three people to hospital. The 17-year-old was pronounced dead a short time later in hospital.

The teenager has now been locally named as Harley Lea. Dozens of tributes have been paid to the 17-year-old and people have shared their condolences to his family.
Writing on the ECHO's Facebook page, Gemma Childs said: "RIP Harley, taken to soon." Another person said: "RIP Harley Lea gone but never forgotten lad." One other person added: "Rest easy Harley bro."
A number of floral tributes were also left at the scene in tribute to Harley. One person at the scene told the ECHO: "Nothing like this should be happening, should it?" Another man said: "It is such a shock, it's not good is it?"
Harley's next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Today, a number of roads were blocked off following the incident and forensics and detectives were also at the scene carrying out their enquiries.
A car within one of the cordons could be seen covered in tarpaulin and debris following the crash could also be seen on Park Road and Blackbrook Road. Two other men, aged 20 and 23, were also seriously injured and have been taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.
A 19-year-old man and 24-year-old man, from St Helens, have both been arrested on suspicion of murder and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The men are both currently in custody where they will be questioned by detectives.
Detective Chief Inspector John Fitzgerald said: "The investigation is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has taken place. We are reviewing CCTV and appealing for anyone who was in the area of Boardmans Lane and Park Road in the early hours to contact us.
"Anyone who believes they have captured something significant on their dash cam or mobile phone is also asked to get in touch as they may have information which is vital to the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or contact @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 22000732165."
