Burglars who raided the bedroom of a Falklands soldier who was killed aged 17 have been branded “total scumbags”.
Courageous Para Jason Burt was shot by a sniper on Mount Longdon.
But days before the 40th anniversary of the start of the war burglars broke into his mum’s house in north London.
Mum Terry Burt has kept Jason’s room just like he left it when he went to the Falklands in April 1982.
But the thieves ransacked it, throwing his clothes on the floor in their search for valuables.
Terry, 86, said: “How could people do such a terrible thing?
"My son died for his country and these scumbags came into his room.
“It was particularly upsetting as it was so close to the anniversary.”
Jason’s brother Jarvis said: “They have violated my brother’s memory and my mum’s house. I’m outraged.”
Jason, of 3 Para, was killed storming an enemy position, two days before Argentina surrendered.
Terry is in poor health and being looked after by family friend Ryszard Piasecki, 22. Jarvis’s car, jewellery and cash were stolen.
