Once in a while, a complete stranger will show you an act of kindness that restores your faith in humanity and can turn your entire day around.
But for one teenager who was recently the recipient of such a gesture, the kindness she was shown backfired almost immediately - as other people called her "selfish" for not paying it forward and continuing the goodwill shown to her.
Posting her story on Reddit, the 16-year-old woman from the US explained that she was waiting in the queue at her local Starbucks when the man in front of her decided he wanted to start a chain of paying for the order of the next person in the queue.
