Teen left with 'serious' injuries after being hit by car in Hamilton

A teen has been rushed to hospital after being struck by a Renault Clio in Hamilton last night.

A 16-year-old boy is in a serious condition following the incident on Burnbank Road at around 8pm.

Police and ambulance services sped to the scene and the teenager was taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University.

The driver, aged 32, and his two passengers were uninjured.

Enquiries into the incident are still ongoing.

Sergeant Craig McDonald said: “Enquiries are continuing into the cause of the crash and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident who has not yet spoken to police to contact us.

“I am also keen to obtain any dash-cam from drivers who were in the area of Burnbank Road around the time of the crash.

“Anyone with information should contact Road Policing Officers through 101 quoting reference number 3491 of 20 January.”
