A 13-year-old Texas gamer narrowly avoided serious injury after lightning struck his family's home while he was playing video games.

According to a report by KPRC 2 Click2Houston, the electrical surge traveled through the home's wiring before reaching his metal desk, where the current reportedly passed through his abdomen. The unexpected shock caused Vlad to leap from his chair and cry out in pain.
"I was just sitting here. Everything was going fine. I was just playing game. I was not expecting anything, and there's a metal part right here. And my skin was touching it, so I got shocked kind of.
I was just like jumped out really fast and I just don't know. I started screaming. I don't know. It was crazy."
His father immediately contacted emergency services, and paramedics arrived to evaluate the teenager. Fortunately, medical personnel determined that Vlad had not sustained life-threatening injuries and did not require hospitalization.
Although he escaped permanent physical harm, Vlad later said the experience left him shaken and dizzy, showing how quickly a routine gaming session can turn into a dangerous situation during severe weather.
