Teen charged with woman’s murder after extradition from the UAE

Murder UAE Kamonnan Thiamphanit
  • Enzo Bettamio has been charged with the murder of Kamonnan Thiamphanit, 27, who was found stabbed to death at an Airbnb in Bayswater, central London, in April 2024.
  • Bettamio, 18, was extradited from the United Arab Emirates to the UK on Friday following joint efforts by the Metropolitan Police and the Crown Prosecution Service.
  • Ms Thiamphanit, known as Angela to friends, was discovered with multiple stab wounds at her property in Stanhope Place on 8 April 2024.
  • Bettamio is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
  • The Met Police referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct after officers were contacted by Ms Thiamphanit's friends the day before her body was found, with the case initially graded as a medium-risk missing person inquiry.
