A teenage boy is fighting for life as police probe a major house fire on Western Australia’s mid west coast, which left him and three others with burns.

Emergency services were called to the blaze near the intersection of Marinula Road and Bushby Close in the suburb of Mount Tarcoola at Geraldton about 4.10pm on Thursday.

Three teenage boys were found at the scene, while a fourth was found at a nearby home.

Three of the teenagers aged 12, 13 and 14 sustained significant burns in the fire. They were flown to Perth Children’s Hospital.

As of Friday, the 13-year-old boy was in a critical condition, while the other two were stable.

The fourth boy, another 13-year-old, was taken to Geraldton Hospital for what police described as moderate burns and he has since been discharged.

Western Australia Police Force arson squad investigators were on Friday examining the scene of the fire.
