A teenager was attacked by a 'group of men' following a Boxing Day football match.
Cheshire Police confirmed that an 18-year-old man was approached by a group of men at around 5pm following Warrington Town's match with Marine. The teen was walking on Loushers Lane in Warrington when he was assaulted.
The incident was reported at 1.45pm the following day (Tuesday, December 27) with reports on social media suggesting the victim was a Marine fan. He suffered injuries to the face as a result of the attack.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "A report was made at around 1.45pm on Tuesday, December 27 that an 18-year-old man had been walking on Loushers Lane, Warrington when he was approached by a group of men who assaulted him.
"It is believed that the assault took place at around 5pm on Monday, December 26 following Warrington Town FC’s match against Marine FC. The man sustained injuries to his face."
Warrington Town confirmed it was investigating incidents of chants directed at Marine fans during the match as well as "other alleged incidents" from the matchday. The club said it was unable to make any further comment.
