Teen attacked by gang on Bold Street near central train station

A teenager suffered a head injury after being attacked in Liverpool city centre.

The 19-year-old had been walking along Bold Street, at around 3.30am on Thursday, November 10, when he was approached by another man. He was then followed and three other men joined a short time later.

The victim was then assaulted by the four suspects. He was rushed to hospital for treatment after suffering a cut to his forehead.

Merseyside police put a cordon in place on Bold Street, that also covered parts of Hanover Street and Liverpool central train station. After searching the area, officers arrested a 17-year-old boy, from Toxteth, on suspicion of Section 20 assault and robbery.

He has been taken into custody and is being questioned by police. A spokesperson for the force said: "A teenage boy has been arrested following a report of an assault in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of this morning, Thursday 10 November.

"At around 3.30am it was reported that a 19-year-old man was walking along Bold Street with a friend when they were approached by a male, and three more males joined them a short time later. An altercation then took place where the four males assaulted the 19-year-old victim. He received a cut to his forehead which required hospital treatment.
