Tech & Science Daily: ‘The Third Thumb’ you can control with your brain

As the Royal Society’s Summer Science Exhibition continues this week, we’ve spoken to a designer showcasing her design of a third thumb.

Dani Clode’s ‘The Third Thumb’ attaches to your hand and is controlled by your toe using signals from the brain. However, they’re still looking into how the brain copes with an extra body part.

Tech & Science Daily also spoke to Lucy Dowdall, a PhD student at the University of Cambridge’s cognition and brains unit, who has been working with Dani on testing the technology.
