A data analyst from the Mozilla Foundation has told the Evening Standard that YouTube users are going to ‘extreme measures’ to avoid the site’s video recommendation algorithm.

Jesse McCrosky said a lot of people are using private browsing tabs and extensions to eliminate recommendations.

It’s as a study by the foundation found that YouTube’s ‘dislike’ and ‘do not recommend’ buttons were not proving to be effective.

Meanwhile, some users have reported YouTube is trialling making its 4K video option a premium-only feature.

Some have found the word ‘premium’ next to the 4K button on some videos.

It’s thought the site might be planning to put a paywall in place for higher-resolution footage.

Kanye West has been blocked out of Instagram and Twitter.

The rapper, now known as ‘Ye’, reportedly posted anti-semitic messages on both platforms.

Twitter has said that his official account has been locked due to a violation of the social media site’s policies.

And the rest

It’s reported ministers in the UK are planning to block solar farms from being set up on agricultural land. The Guardian claims that the new environment secretary, Ranil Jayawardena, is against solar panels being set up on farmland, because it impedes his programme of growth and boosting food production. Plus, rumours Apple is preparing to make the switch to USB-C soon, why spending time around water as a child can benefit your mental health as an adult, the iPhone 14 feature calling 911 on roller coasters and how the heat from your fingers could give away your passwords.
