A South West media and tech company has opened a new state-of-the-art headquarters in Somerset. The Ascot Group’s extensively renovated business campus in Worle, near Weston-super-Mare, spans three sites and houses more than 100 staff.
The office facilities include a fully equipped gym, electric car charging points, a new recording studio and a social space featuring an arcade machine, TV with streaming services, and a high-tech music system.
Andrew Scott, the group’s chief executive, said: “The Ascot Campus is the result of £1.5m investment and many years of hard work, and I am delighted with the end result.
“The location is a magnet for people in the region, with easy access to transport links, plenty of free parking, local amenities and shops. It is a thriving, modern estate that makes the ideal home for the Ascot campus."
Mr Scott, who founded the company in 2004, said the opening of the offices marked the start of an "exciting new adventure" for the business. He added: "We have many more ambitious plans for the months and years ahead.”
Since 2020, the group has employed more than 30 new members of staff and has plans to grow this number further to reach 200 employees over the next three years.
The Ascot Group is the latest in a long line of UK companies that are investing millions of pounds in their office spaces in a bid to attract staff. More people are returning to the workplace since the easing of restrictions in February, but the pandemic has changed ways of working.
There has been a permanent shift in how people think about the working day with plenty of businesses now operating remotely and embracing new models, like the four-day working week or offering hybrid working, where staff split their time between home and the office.
Some businesses are embracing flexible working patterns, while others are keen for employees to return to the office full time.
