Former President Donald Trump made a claim on Wednesday that he had received the endorsement of the 'rank-and-file' of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, despite the union's decision not to endorse a presidential candidate. Speaking at a campaign rally in Uniondale, New York, Trump stated, 'Earlier today, I was honored to receive the endorsement of the rank-and-file membership of the Teamsters, I love the Teamsters.'

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters announced on the same day that, for the first time in nearly three decades, it would not be endorsing a presidential candidate. Internal polling conducted by the Teamsters revealed that approximately 60% of its members believed the union should endorse Trump, while 34% expressed support for Vice President Kamala Harris.
