'Team will perform very well': Yusuf Pathan ahead of India vs Australia Boxing Day Test at MCG

NEW DELHI: Ahead of the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan shared his thoughts on the national team's performance so far in the series.

The series is finely balanced at 1-1, setting the stage for a high-stakes decider at the iconin Melbourne Cricket Ground.

India kicked off the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with a dominant 295-run victory over Australia in Perth but faced a setback in the second Test, suffering a 10-wicket defeat in the day-night game in Adelaide.

The third Test at the Gabba ended in a draw, keeping both teams level heading into the final clash.

"The Indian cricket team has worked very hard, and we are hopeful that the team will perform very well and make us proud," Yusuf Pathan told reporters.

Australia have made a couple of adjustments to their squad for the crucial match.

Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out due to injury, with Sam Konstas replacing Nathan McSweeney in the squad for the fourth Test. Sean Abbott is expected to feature in Australia's playing XI.
