The turning point came when Tiffany Hayes of Azerbaijan scored the game-winning basket, taking advantage of a breakdown in communication among US defenders. Hayes, a standout player for the Las Vegas Aces, led her team with 11 points, while Dina Ulyanova contributed six points to the upset victory.
