Six By Nico is all set to open a second site in the city centre. The ‘affordable’ bistro chain will be opening up the new restaurant on the corner of John Dalton Street and Deansgate.
The site is currently the location of Motley, the bar and restaurant at the Yotel Hotel. An application has gone into the council for ‘a new licence for the sale of alcohol and regulated entertainment (limited to live and recorded music) within a restaurant’.
The application adds that ‘the restaurant will trade as Six by Nico and it will be its second site in Manchester’, and is applying to open until 1.30am. The other Six By Nico location is on Spring Gardens, close to the Gotham Hotel.

It opened back in 2019, with its concept of a six course tasting menu, changing up its offering every six weeks, proving to be a hit with diners. The restaurants also work their new menus around a theme.
Themes can include anything from a city - recently Lisbon and Marrakech, to more abstract ideas like movies or a Mad Hatter’s tea party.
The chain was devised by Scottish chef Nico Simone in Glasgow in 2017, and has expanded rapidly across the UK and Ireland. It now has locations in Aberdeen, Belfast, Canary Wharf and Fitzrovia in London, Dublin, Edinburgh and Liverpool.
The six course tasting menus vary in price, but can cost as little as £39, with matching wines for another £30.
