Teachers at a Glasgow school are to take further strike action for the remainder of the week after a failure to make sufficient progress in addressing violent and abusive pupil behaviour.
Staff members at Bannerman High will walk out today (November 29), tomorrow and Thursday with a further eight days planned during December.
The NASUWT teachers’ union has been in negotiations with Glasgow City Council in a bid to resolve the dispute and said it has made “some progress” to identify appropriate safeguards. But the union claims the council is still threatening to send staff home without pay if they refuse to stay in a classroom with a pupil threatening their safety.
