A teacher who thought she had ovarian cancer due to the chronic pain she suffered from for years was diagnosed with an incurable condition.
Michelle da Silva Willis, a former English teacher from Toxeth, worried that she would be branded a "hypocrite" for constantly telling students about the importance of attendance while being forced to take time off work herself.
The 43-year-old experienced a "really painful lower back" and an unsettled stomach for two years before visiting her GP, who initially suspected she had irritable bowel syndrome or a kidney infection, the Liverpool Echo reports.
