A short clip showing a teacher’s contentious first day back from summer break went viral on X after she revealed that mold had contaminated her entire classroom. “Everything was ruined,” she said. The video was originally posted on TikTok by the user @alyssamia11, who explained that while she loves her job, conditions like these are making it increasingly difficult for teachers to do what they do best.
She said, “I do not get paid enough for this.” The creator explained that she had spent countless hours decorating her classroom, with much of the money coming out of her own pocket, only to return and find it covered in mold. She told her followers she believed the damage happened because the school did not keep the air conditioning running over the summer.
