A Fine Gael TD has warned that the Passport Service must ensure they deal with incorrect or incomplete applications promptly to make sure those with travel plans avoid undue delays.
Michael Ring, a Mayo West TD, has urged the Department of Foreign Affairs to ensure it is staying on top of passport applications ahead of the busy summer season.
The TD says that last year, a "surge in demand" for passport processing "led to delays."
