Taylor Swift has reportedly got secretly engaged to British actor Joe Alwyn, with the couple set to tie the knot in 18 months time.
The actor, 31, is said to have popped the question to Taylor, 32, a few months ago, with only their closest circle knowing about their plans to marry.
The loved-up couple, who have dated since 2016, are reportedly planning a 'simple yet elegant wedding' and aren't lured into the prospect of lucrative magazine or TV deals for their big day.
A source close to Joe told The Sun: "Taylor and Joe are incredibly happy, and very, very in love, they’ve actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle - basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends.
"Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too. Taylor has a beautiful ring but she only wears it when she’s at home - i.e behind closed doors.
"Again, only a handful of people know details about the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team about the engagement."
The publication reports there isn't any specific wedding details yet and it is unknown if Taylor and Joe will officially announced their engagement.
Mirror Online has contacted Taylor and Joe's representatives for comment.
The pair previously sparked rumours of an engagement back in January as they jet-setted 4,000 miles from Nashville to St Ives for a romantic break.
The rumour mill was in full flow thanks to their trip to the picturesque fishing harbour town in Cornwall which is said to be "particularly special" to them.
Pop sensation Taylor and Joe have been together for six years and split their time between the US and London.
A source familiar with the couple said the pair's relationship intensified during the Covid-19 pandemic as it resulted in them living together throughout the lockdowns.
London-born Alwyn gained recognition after starring in war drama Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk in 2016.
Speaking to The Guardian about keeping his relationship private with the Grammy winner, Joe said back in April: "It’s just not for other people.
"I don’t know how best to talk about it. I mean, I’m aware of people’s… of that size of interest, and that world existing.
"It’s just not something I particularly care about, or have much interest in feeding, I guess, because the more it’s fed, the more you are opening a gate for intrusion. I think that’s just my response to a culture that has this increasing expectation that everything is going to be given."
In 2019, Joe revealed that he liked when Taylor wrote songs about him.
When asked by The Sunday Times if he minded being her subject matter for her music, he said: “No, not at all. No. It’s flattering,"
The actor even co-wrote songs with Swift for her most recent albums, Folklore and Evermore, which were released last year.
He wrote under the pseudonym William Bowery.
Swift has avoided talking about Alwyn in interviews, and speaking to The Guardian about her decision, she said: “I’ve learned that if I do, people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion."
When Taylor's Miss Americana documentary was released on Netflix, Taylor gave an insight into how her and Joe's relationship started in 2016, after her bitter Snapchat fallout with Kim Kardashian.
“I felt alone, I felt really bitter,” she said.
“I felt sort of like a wounded animal lashing out. I figured I had to reset everything. I had to reconstruct an entire belief system for my own personal sanity. I also was falling in love with someone who had a wonderfully normal, balanced life.”
In 2020 the pop sensation hinted that Joe helped inspired her song Peace, while talking to Paul McCartney for Rolling Stone.
She explained the song “is actually more rooted in my personal life. I know you have done a really excellent job of this in your personal life: carving out a human life within a public life, and how scary that can be when you do fall in love and you meet someone, especially if you’ve met someone who has a very grounded, normal way of living."
Taylor - one of music's most influential and highest earning women, amassing a $170million as well as chart domination - has had her pick of the A-List when it comes to romances.
Before Joe, she dated Hollywood heavyweight Tom Hiddleston, 41, fellow chart-topper Calvin Harris (dating the Scot from March 2015 - June 2016), and before that there was another transatlantic relationship with Harry Styles.
She has dated the likes of John Mayer and Jake Gyllenhaal as well.
Taylor is known for writing about her exes in her songs, and her relationship with Jake was thrust into the spotlight once more last November, with the release of her song All Too Well.
The relationship, which was more than a decade ago between the pair, then aged 20 and 29 respectively, is believed to be the focus of the track, which was originally released in 2012.
The relationship is said to have ended in December 2011, as reported by Us Weekly and a year later, she released her fourth album Red - with fans convinced that some tracks had been written about Jake.
In particular, the song All Too Well, which mentions a road trip to upstate New York, became associated with him.
