Taylor Swift's outfit compared to Princess Diana's iconic 'revenge' dress

Taylor Swift fans have been in a frenzy over the weekend as the singer-songwriter released her album, Red (Taylor’s Version). Now eagle-eyed Swifties have noticed a striking resemblance between a dress she wore and that of Princess Diana’s.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Thursday, Swift wore an off-the-shoulder LBD which fans compared to Diana’s iconic ‘revenge’ dress, worn in 1994.

Fans speculated the dress could be a nod to Scooter Braun, who acquired and sold the rights to Swift’s music masters, or to her ex-boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal, who her song All Too Well is widely-believed to be about.

Swifties took to Twitter to share their comparisons and reactions to the striking similarity.

During the talk-show interview, host Meyers had asked Swift: “I wonder, if there are people who might think that they’re the one you’re singing about, if it’s easier, or far, far worse, for them ten years later?”

The singer-songwriter savagely replied: “I haven’t thought about their experience to be honest.”

On Saturday, Swift also released a short film for the new, ten-minute version of All Too Well starring Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink, which was written and directed by Swift herself.

The film, which Swift said is based on the premise of the song, garnered over 27 million views in just two days and sent Swifties wild.

In an interview with Access Hollywood at the film’s premiere, Swift reacted to the fan theories of her channelling Diana’s revenge dress.

Sadly, she denied the comparison being intentional, saying: “Oh my gosh, this is not, I just liked the dress. It was a black dress I liked”.

But, in the words of the singer herself, there’s nothing Taylor Swift does Better than Revenge.
