Pop star Taylor Swift has been ruled out of headlining Glastonbury 2024 after announcing clashing UK and Ireland tour dates. The singer has added 14 more dates for The Eras tour next year due to exceptional demand for tickets.
Taylor Swift had been speculated as one of next year's headliners heading to Worthy Farm after the star was rumoured to have pulled out in 2022 due to scheduling conflicts. Initially, there was a perfect gap for the final night of Glastonbury 2024 - set for June 26-30 - when she first announced the dates for the UK, Ireland and Europe in June.
On Wednesday (July 5), the singer went from bookies' favourite to being ruled out completely. Swift is now booked to play three dates in Dublin on June 28-30, 2024, which is a complete clash with the music festival.

The star tweeted: "Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with Paramore Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer."
Taylor's The Eras tour celebrates music from across her back catalogue of studio albums, including her latest record-breaking release Midnights. Following a highly publicised dispute over the ownership of her masters, the singer began re-recording six of her studio albums, two of which have been released so far - Fearless (Taylor’s Version) and Red (Taylor’s Version).
Millions of Swifties are hoping to grab a ticket for the star's The Eras UK and European tour next week. One Taylor Swift fan has shared a tip to check your exact wait time in Ticketmaster's queue. The closest show to Bristol is in Cardiff on June 18, 2024.
On Twitter, people reacted to the news of the pop star being ruled out. Festival organiser Emily Eavis had previously said there would be two women headliners in 2024, so many believe Dua Lipa, Pink or even Madonna are on the cards.
@TheGlastoThingy tweeted: "Two that were also debutants at the festival. One was supposedly confirmed, the other close. Dua has done it before so most likely options would be Rhianna, Madonna or Pink."
@CarsmileSteve said: "I mean, nothing against Taylor but also, phew! Don't need a million Swifties trying to get tickets on top of everything else!"
@chaos_neil wrote: "Honestly… I’m devastated. Nothing would of been better than Tay Tay headlining."
Glastonbury Festival will be from June 26 to June 30, 2024
