Taylor Swift has revealed her second Midnights lyric, and it’s on a billboard in London.
At the stroke of midnight, and believed to be posted from the home of her boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, in London, a line of her lyrics appeared on a billboard in the city that read: “I polish up real nice.”
Reacting to a fan photo of the lyrics, the Taylor Nation Twitter account retweeted a fan photo of the lyrics that read: “London, you polish up real nice”.
It added: “#CountdownToMidnighTS Time to pre-save #TSmidnighTS on @Spotify and polish up on our track titles! In which song does this lyric belong?”

The reveal of the lyric is in partnership with Spotify and, according to the music streaming platform, more lyrics are coming this week, with a different set to be unveiled on billboards in various cities across the world, reported Billboard.
At midnight New York City time, the first lyric reveal appeared on a giant billboard in Times Square. “I should not be left to my own devices,” it read.
Midnights is set to come out at midnight on Friday, October 21. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: “I really don’t think I’ve delved this far into my insecurities in this detail before. “I struggle a lot with the idea that my life has become unmanageably sized.
“Not to sound too dark, but I just struggle with the idea of not feeling like a person – don’t feel bad for me, you don’t need to. But this song really is a real guided tour through all the things I tend to hate about myself; we all hate things about ourselves.”
Also updated was Spotify’s Midnights pre-save page, which included a video of Swift, revealing a second thing that “kept me up at night” and inspired the album: “Fantasising about revenge,” she said, before revealing a coy smile.
Spotify teased that the British capital would also be the location of the announcement, sharing a screengrab of the proposed billboard, with the words: “Meet us at midnight.”
In a tweet, they referenced Swift’s song London Boy”, writing: “So I guess all the rumors are true/You know I love a London bo(ard)/Bo(ard), I fancy you.”

Also announced on Monday, Swift’s UK fans were incentivised for pre-ordering the album, with a “special presale code access”, which offered “yet to be announced” show dates, for a future tour.
The new partnership with Spotify strengthens the relationship between Swift and the streaming platform, from which Swift pulled her music in 2014.
Explaining the decision in a post on Instagram in 2018, she said: “As part of my new contract with Universal Music Group, I asked that any sale of their Spotify shares result in a distribution of money to their artist, non-recoupable.
She added: “They have generously agreed to this, at what they believe will be much better terms than paid out previously by other major labels.”
