Taylor Swift makes history with Songwriters Hall of Fame induction

  • Pop superstar Taylor Swift has made history by becoming the youngest woman ever inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame at the age of 36.
  • Swift credited her family's sacrifice and dedication for her success, with film director Steven Spielberg delivering a surprise introduction.
  • The gala also celebrated Kiss 's Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley , Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Alanis Morissette , and Kenny Loggins.
  • Additional accolades included the Johnny Mercer Award for John Fogerty and the Hal David Starlight Award for British singer-songwriter RAYE, who used her speech to advocate for songwriters receiving a share of master royalties.
  • Carole King, Paul Simon and Elton John are all previous inductees.
