Taylor Swift becomes first artist to achieve three UK number one singles this year

Taylor Swift has become the first artist to land three UK number one singles in 2026, alongside securing her fifth chart double, according to the Official Charts Company.

The 36-year-old US pop star put out an expanded version of her album The Life Of A Showgirl last Friday featuring four extra tracks, three of which are now driving the UK singles chart.

Patient Zero climbed to the top, earning Swift her eighth UK number one single and her third of the year, following Opalite and her Toy Story 5 song I Knew It, I Knew You.

Her return to the peak of the UK albums chart means she has now completed a chart double for five straight years since 2022.

The album's comeback via The Encore edition marks one year since its original release.

The 2025 record, which was the fastest-selling album in US history in its opening week, is her first to generate three UK number ones, with Patient Zero following The Fate Of Ophelia and Opalite.

The LP has now spent five non-consecutive weeks at number one.

Elsewhere, London group Keo took number two with their debut Put A Smile On Me, which also led the official record store and vinyl charts.

Nothing But Thieves scored their fourth straight top five album with Stray Dogs at number three, while Olivia Rodrigo sat at number four with You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love.

It is followed by Michael Jackson’s compilation album The Essential at number five, which has dominated the charts in recent months amid an ongoing resurgence for the late singer – nicknamed the King of Pop.

Britpop band Oasis, led by Liam and Noel Gallagher, are also climbing their way back into the charts a week after announcing their Oasis Live ’27 tour following the success of their Oasis Live ’25 reunion concerts.

After their upcoming gigs sold out quickly amid huge demand, their album Time Flies… has made its way to number six on the chart, while (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? is at nine and Definitely Maybe sits at 16.

Over on the singles chart, Swift dominates with fellow encore tracks Cleveland! at three and Babylon at four.

The pop powerhouse is joined by Sienna Spiro’s Great Expectation at two while Ella Langley sits at five with Choosin’ Texas – which recently landed the US singer-songwriter her first UK number one single.
