Taylor Sheridan accused of stealing Yellowstone idea in copyright lawsuit

Writer Lauren J. Salkin has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit alleging Taylor Sheridan stole the concept for Yellowstone from her pitch , Sovereign Nation.
The lawsuit, obtained by The Independent , names Sheridan alongside 101 Studios, Paramount Global, and NBCUniversal as co-defendants.
Salkin claims she pitched her series to Sheridan's representatives in 2016 and was rejected in early 2017, months before Yellowstone was greenlit.
The complaint details specific plot, structural, and casting similarities, including the involvement of actors Danny Huston and Gil Birmingham.
Salkin is seeking damages, profits, and injunctive relief to prevent any future infringement.
