Former Tennessee Titans left tackle Taylor Lewan is looking for a new home after the team cut him on Thursday, but he’s already ruling out three potential destinations.
According to Lewan himself, via the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, Lewan said he wouldn’t play for another AFC South team like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts or Houston Texans.
“No, those are the three teams that are for sure no,” Lewan said, per NESN.com. “I would not go play for an AFC South team.”
As far as teams that could use his services as a left tackle, Lewan mentioned the Cincinnati Bengals, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles and New Orleans Saints as some potential suitors.
“The reality is there’s going to be multiple teams out there that want my services and I’m good enough to do that,” Lewan said. “So that’s an awesome feeling.”
Per Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, the team hasn’t closed the door on a reunion with Lewan, but such a move would have to come at a greatly reduced price after two torn ACLs in three years.
Even then, the Titans can’t depend on Lewan for a starting role with his injury issues the last few years.
Another potential option on the table for Lewan aside from the Titans and going someplace else is retirement, something Lewan admitted was a possibility before being cut by Tennessee.
