Four Indian-origin individuals have pleaded guilty to a massive fraud in Texas that cost the US government millions of dollars. Subhala Suresh, Matthews Chacko, Anish Pillai, and Mou Kundu defrauded the government by preparing false federal tax returns for their clients that included false expenses. As a result, their clients received refunds which they were not entitled for and the federal government lost money.
All four of them had different clients but they have been described as co-conspirators in court documents. Subhala Suresh is the latest to have pleaded guilty. She faces a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a period of supervised release, restitution and monetary penalties.
