Tattoos are personal to everyone - whether you're covered in ink, or just have one little meaningful tattoo in a hidden place. But one mum, Melissa Sloan, is famous for her jaw-dropping 'prison style' tattoos, and she isn't afraid to flaunt her extensive body art. But some wonder where the mum gets her inspiration from.
The 45-year-old, from Wales, has been influenced by world record holders and alternative models, with one of her muses including the 'Dragon Lady' who is a Texas-based tattoo addict known as Tiamat Legion Medusa, whose whole body is covered in inked scales.
Melissa told the Daily Star that she admires people who are different and apologetic about the way that they look.
She said: "I bet they get more hassle than I do, I say to myself.
"They're a bit on a higher level than me – but it's up to them if they want to do that."
She also draws inspiration from tattooed influencers and models, and even got a specific tattoo done because she saw one of her favourite influencers had it done.
Melissa continued: "I'm inspired by these tattoo models because I would love to be a tattoo model but I'm not pretty enough.
"The tattooed women in the magazines are always inspiring me, I couldn't go to that level and be a model but I just like tattoos.
"I'm past that stage now, I'm getting nearly in my fifties."
Her body is covered in tattoos though, from from crucifixes to Playboy bunnies and even the England flag - and she's claimed she won't stop getting them, even if 'her leg falls off'.
Melissa claimed that sometimes her kids choose her inking, and they're particularly fond of her butterflies.
She has gone viral for her passion for 'prison style' body art, which allegedly got her banned from the boozer and shunned from her children's nativity play, but as long as she's happy, that's all she cares about.
