As festival settings go, they don't get much more stunning than beside the lake in the rolling grounds of Tatton Park. And that's the location as the Tatton Park Pop Up Festival returns this weekend for a full summer of events at the historic Cheshire parkland.
Returning for a second summer season, the festival was first launched with a "socially distanced" format to comply with lockdown restrictions last year. But the layout, with seating for up to six people in individual squares, proved so popular with revellers that it returns this year, albeit without any social restrictions.
It makes for a boutique festival vibe to proceedings, with no need to worry about taking your own camping chairs and brollies when it is all provided there for you in luxurious form. The Tatton Park festival returns with a bang - with The Rocket Man - one of the world's leading tributes to Elton John.

And the opening weekend continues with the ever-popular family show Jurassic Earth with a morning and afternoon show for the dino fans among us, before ABBA tribute Abba Mia The Party rounds things out on the Sunday. Shows and events continue over most weekends across the Summer now up until Sunday, August 7 when a Last night of the Proms event will bring it all to a firework finale.
Rebecca Hartley, based in Knutsford, founded the festival last year. She said: "Last year’s event was spectacular and we had such overwhelming support that we knew we had to bring this experience back to Cheshire for another run. This year’s festival features over 30 separate shows over a six week run and we’ve had a fabulous reception so far."
Each event will accommodate up to 1,200 ticket holders seated at squares of four, five or six guests. The squares include private seating and table service, with VIP Squares also benefiting from premium seating and a VIP lounge.
The food and drink offering is set to go up a notch this year too - with the promise of "luxury food and drinks from brands including Moet & Chandon and Veuve Clicquot". Time to get those corks popping we reckon...
