Target (TGT) introduced its’ Spring Designer Collection for 2023, and it's going big and famous. Target is not new to having huge name fashion designers' collections featured throughout its featured brands. Target has been featuring different designers since the 1990s.
The retailer started featuring different designers after a chance meeting with the first designer partner that Target worked with in Washington D.C., Michael Graves. Graves wasn’t a fashion designer by any means, but a well-known architect, and the partnership launched Target into a new category of high-end designs for Target.
Target has since featured many different designers for not only home and kitchen goods, but of course clothing and accessories as well. Shopping at Target with its revolving fashion designers’ collections means that there is a new selection to choose from with the trends changing regularly.
The chain has also started featuring social media influencers when it comes to fashion and designs, so the expanded market of fashion choices isn’t just by designers, but by those who are out creating fashion trends through media movements.
Target Debuts New Designer in a Bold Statement
Target recently featured designers and social media celebrity Tabitha Brown and committed to four different collections from the designer. Now Target has shared its latest partnership with three more brands by women, Agua Bendita, Fe Noel, and RHODE. Each collection is a unique creative selection that celebrates the individual heritage of the brands themselves. The brands will roll in the springtime fashions with apparel, swimwear, and accessories that bring out the fun of being out in the warm weather.
"Target has a long history of bringing to our guests the world's best designers at amazing prices and our partnership with Agua Bendita, Fe Noel, and RHODE is another great example of that," Jill Sando, Target’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer stated in a press release. "These are bold, distinctive, women-founded brands inspired by their own roots and cultures and I know our guests will absolutely love them."
The retailer is also introducing a Columbian brand, Agua Bendita.
"We want every single thing to have a bit of our Colombian culture. Our brand shows the exuberance of Colombia — the tropical weather, the variety, the magic — you can feel the energy and good vibes," said company founder, Catalina Álvarez.
Felisha “Fe” Noel is a fashion designer out of Brooklyn, N.Y., she founded her company at the age of 19 and is truly embracing her Caribbean heritage of the West Indies Island country of Grenada. The Target Fe Noel collection is described by Noel herself as "we're living our Caribbean roots loud and proud, inspired by the natural resources around us. Fe Noel is about effortless luxury and seeing life in all its beauty.”
The RHODE collection is a brand built by two best friends Purna Khatau and Phoebe Vickers in 2014. The pair were inspired by different cultures throughout the world and bring different representations out in their designs. Khatau said this about their unique fashions, "The beauty and vibrancy of India is a constant source of inspiration. We also think a lot about ease and comfort — flattering silhouettes that can be dressed up or down and pieces that make you feel more confident."
Target Continues to Explore Women's Clothing Designed by Women
Target has been exploring fashions by women for women bringing more equity to the retail fashion market. Along with its latest fashion partners Agua Bendita, Fe Noel and RHODE, among other fashions by Tabitha Brown, it also brought a collection from Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. Karefa-Johnson's fashions are unique as they consist of designs in a combination of abstract prints, textures, bright bold colors and hints of neutral colors that catch the eye.
The latest Target fashions by women for women will be offered in sizes XXS up to 4X. Pricing will range from $15- $48. These latest fashion designers' collections are only going to be available for a limited-time only beginning on April 15, so if these bold and unique fashions appeal to you, taking action to purchase while supplies last is encouraged.
