Tanner Boser is sticking with light heavyweight.
After suffering a loss in his first fight at 205-pounds, Boser is returning again in hopes to get his first official win in the division. The Canadian fighter will take on Aleksa Camur at a UFC Fight Night event on Aug. 5. The location for the card has yet to be announced.
Two people with knowledge of the booking recently informed MMA Junkie of the matchup but asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
Boser (20-10-1 MMA, 4-5 UFC) last fought at UFC on ESPN 44 in April when he lost to Ion Cutelaba in a first-round TKO. Not only is Boser looking to get his first win at light heavyweight, but also trying to snap a two-fight losing streak, as he was coming off a split decision defeat to Rodrigo Nascimento in the bout prior to Cutelaba. The Canadian is 1-4 in his past five UFC outings.
Camur (6-2 MMA, 1-2 UFC) is in a similar situation to his opponent’s, as he’s got back to back defeats in the octagon. He hasn’t been seen in action in a good while, as his last bout was a split decision loss to Nicolae Negumereanu back in summer of 2021.
