Things are starting to ramp up in terms of Tottenham's transfer activity in the summer transfer window. Completing the permanent addition of Dejan Kulusevski from Juventus last Saturday following his 18-month loan deal, Spurs are also on the verge of sealing another signing from Serie A.
Guglielmo Vicario is the player in question with a £16.3m transfer from Empoli set to come to fruition. Rated extremely highly in Italy, the goalkeeper will take on Hugo Lloris' gloves and become Spurs' new No.1 once a deal gets over the line.
With Tottenham fans hoping there will be a number of new faces at Hotspur Way by the time pre-season training commences under new boss Ange Postecoglou, a handful of familiar faces will be returning to their Enfield base following their time away on loan last campaign. These include Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso and Harry Winks after their loan spells at Napoli, Villarreal and Sampdoria respectively.
As Postecoglou will take a look at all the players at his disposal first as he gets his plans in place for the new season, some of those returning could potentially come into his thinking. It remains to be see what exactly will happen with both Ndombele and Lo Celso, who will be entering their fifth season as Spurs players following their moves to the club in the summer of 2019.
Bryan Gil could be one of those who forces his way into the Spurs side under Postecoglou, while Joe Rodon and Djed Spence will have their fingers crossed that an opportunity arises as they bid to finally make their name in north London.
Our Tottenham correspondents Alasdair Gold and Rob Guest discuss all of the returning players and whether they have a future under Postecoglou in the latest episode of their podcast Gold & Guest Talk Tottenham. As well as that, the duo also reflect on the imminent arrival of Vicario and Kulusevski's permanent move to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
