Tanaiste Leo Varadkar agrees with President Higgins that housing crisis is 'social disaster'

Tanáiste Leo Varadkar has agreed with President Michael D Higgins stating that the housing crisis is a “social disaster” for many people.

However, Mr Varadkar said the housing situation is a “ failing of successive Governments'.”

On Tuesday, President Higgins described housing in Ireland as "our great, great failure" and said "it isn't a crisis anymore, it is a disaster."
