Tampa residents are being urged to stay indoors as the city works to clear debris and make roads passable again following Hurricane Milton. City Council Chairman Guido Maniscalco emphasized the importance of staying inside unless absolutely necessary.
Maniscalco stated, “If you don’t need to go out, do not go out. It’s a beautiful day outside, just because we have this calm after the storm, you know, stay inside.”
The city is currently facing challenges with debris removal and clearing fallen trees to open up roadways, as many areas remain flooded. Maniscalco highlighted that the city is operating with full capacity, with all available resources dedicated to the cleanup efforts.
Despite the aftermath of Hurricane Milton, Maniscalco expressed some optimism, stating that the situation in Tampa is “better than expected (…) considering the magnitude of the storm.”
Residents are advised to exercise caution and prioritize safety by avoiding unnecessary travel until the city completes its cleanup operations. The community is encouraged to cooperate with local authorities and adhere to safety guidelines to ensure a smooth recovery process.
