Tampa Electric has taken proactive measures in anticipation of Hurricane Milton by mobilizing its largest deployment of utility workers to assist with potential restoration efforts. According to Tampa Electric spokesperson Mary Lou Carn, a total of 4,500 utility workers have been mobilized from various states, including Texas, Missouri, and Minnesota, to support the company's operations.

Despite the looming threat of Hurricane Milton, Tampa Electric has confirmed that there are currently no plans to deactivate power in the area. Carn emphasized that power deactivation is only considered in extreme circumstances, such as when flooding is imminent and storm surge levels have reached critical points.
