CHENNAI: Police recovered the body of a youth who was found dead in a forest area in Irungulam on Sunday .
Police have identified the deceased as Tarun Kumar, 20 of Sulurpet, Andhra Pradesh.
A missing complaint was filed at Sulurpet police station 11 days ago. A man who was rearing goats, found the body in a decomposed state in the forest area and alerted police.
Pathirivedu police reached the spot and found the body to be in a decomposed state. They sent the body for a post mortem to Ponneri government hospital.
Police have found that he was a college student who went missing while he went out to meet his friends.
"We are awaiting for the post mortem report, only then we will know it is a case of murder. The body is in a decomposed state and it was difficult to notice the external injuries on the body," said an investigating officer.
Police are questioning his parents and friends and the call record details of the youth are being checked, police said.
