CHENNAI: Playschools and kindergartens in Tamil Nadu will reopen after nearly two years on February 16 as the government on Saturday lifted most lockdown restrictions with Covid-19 cases dropping to 2,812 in the state.
The government, however, extended the ban on political, cultural and social events till March 2 while allowing trade fairs. It also increased the number of people allowed in marriage functions from 100 to 200 and in funerals from 50 to 100. “Except for these conditions, all other restrictions have been withdrawn,” the state government said in a release.
