Amid all the buzz about startups, one sector — veterinary sciences — seems to have remained a silent spectator. That could change for the better as Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Tanuvas) has established the country’s first dedicated incubator — Veterinary Incubation Foundation (VIF) — at Madhavaram in Chennai.
A Section 8 initiative, VIF handholds startups working on concepts related to veterinary sciences and if things work out as planned it could do to veterinary science what the IIT Madras Research Park is doing for tech-pros.
