Tame Impala Is Touring Australia This Year With A Bunch Of Arena Shows Ft. Ninajirachi

This is not a drill: Tame Impala is officially touring Australia with a bunch of arena shows in support of the acclaimed fifth studio album, Deadbeat

That’s right, the musical brainchild of Kevin Parker has booked four dates throughout October of this year, with stops scheduled for Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

When is Tame Impala touring Australia?

Brisbane fans first will feast their ears at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre on Saturday, October 10, followed by a show at Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on Wednesday, October 14.

From there, Tame Impala will swing by Sydney for a performance at Qudos Bank Arena on Monday, October 19, before wrapping up the tour on Perth soil at RAC Arena on Saturday, October 24.

Topping it all off, ARIA Award winner Ninajirachi will serve as Tame Impala’s support act on all stops of the tour, meaning you’ll get a double dose of some truly mesmeric tunes.

When do Tame Impala tickets go on sale?

But enough with the small talk: when can you get tickets? They go on sale this Friday (I told you this was not a drill) February 27 at 11am (local time) via Ticketek HERE. Frontier members are eligible for presale tickets, which go live this Wednesday, February 25 at 9am (local time) HERE.

The tour is in support of Tame Impala’s critically acclaimed album Deadbeat, which dropped in October of last year and borrows heavily from bush doof culture and Western Australia’s rave scene. In other words, it was always destined for the live arena treatment.

Deadbeat was preceded by the singles “End of Summer” and “Loser”, and traces Tame Impala’s lingering self-doubts about fatherhood and his identity. All of that is on top of infinitely danceable beats, meaning it is the epitome of crying in the club (or arena).

The tour comes during an equally successful era for Ninajirachi, who swept last year’s ARIAs courtesy of her breakout album I Love My Computer

So start preparing those nimble fingers and bracing for a ticketing bloodbath, because Tame Impala’s Aussie Deadbeat tour is coming.
