Tallaght Fire Station will host a charity car wash on its grounds to raise funds for a 7-year-old Dublin girl battling brain cancer.
Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed the event would be taking place this Sunday in order to assist the Miley family with their seven-year-old daughter Faye’s treatment. Faye was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour back in April after suffering from repeated headaches and vomiting.
Her family have said on their GoFundMe page that Faye’s prognosis is poor and will travel abroad to have treatments currently not available in Ireland or HSE funded. The GoFundMe page has raised almost €98,000 of its €100,000 target to date.

“Faye has reacted extremely well to her surgery, recovery and her radiotherapy. She is our hero and our inspiration. Unfortunately, we still have a long road ahead,” her parents, Sandra and Robert, wrote.
Faye is a first class pupil in Holy Family National School in Rathcoole. The school, who describe Faye as being “loved and adored by peers and staff”, have appealed for people to donate towards the campaign.
The Dublin family initially thought Faye’s tumour was benign but learnt days after its partial removal that she had glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer that causes rapidly growing tumours. She underwent several investigations in the Eye and Ear Hospital and Our Ladies Hospital before she was admitted to Temple Street, where she eventually received her diagnosis
Her family have set up the hashtag # FightwithFaye on social media for people to learn about her journey and help support her treatment. The car wash is to take place in the grounds of Tallaght Fire Station located on Belgard Road from 3-9pm. All proceeds will go towards Faye’s care.
Faye’s GoFundMe page is available here.
