Mars gears up to run a limited trial of ‘No Bounty’ Celebrations tubs
(Picture: ES Composite)It’s bad news for Bounty lovers. Getting your hands on the creamy coconut-centred treat is set to be harder than usual this Christmas as Mars gears up to run a limited trial of "No Bounty" Celebrations tubs that will go on sale at 40 Tesco stores in the run-up to Christmas.
The food company Mars Wrigley surveyed 2,000 Britons, revealing that almost 40 per cent of consumers want the chocolate permanently axed from their assortment tubs.
The research found that 18 per cent of those polled would feel irritated to find only Bounty bars were left in the tub, while 58 per cent believed it would lead to a family argument.
However, age was discovered to be an influential factor when considering where the Bounty would be ranked alongside other Celebrations. Polling suggested it was popular with a more mature palette, with 38 per cent of over-55s choosing it as their preferred bar.
Celebrations senior brand manager Emily Owen said: “Last year, we gave customers the opportunity to return their unwanted Bounty chocolates. Now, off the back of public demand, we’re trialling taking them out of the tub altogether.
“You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone. And to those loyal – and secret – Bounty lovers out there, there’s still a chance they’ll make a return after the trial.”
