(Picture: Steve Parsons / PA)France is to stop some domestic flight routes where journeys can be made by train in under two-and-a-half hours instead.
The country has received approval from the European Commission, which found it viable for three destinations connecting with Paris. However, plans are on hold for other routes until rail services improve to offer a suitable alternative to air travel.
